What are your three favorite wines of the moment and why?
Alvaro Palacios Camins del Priorat is produced in Catalonia, in the Northeast of Spain. Priorat is the only DOC, the highest level of qualification for a wine in Spain, other than Rioja. This wine is smooth and beautifully balanced, dark and intense, silky with velvety tannins. It is slightly lighter than its big sister, Les Terrasses Velles Vinyes.
Coeur de Clémentine Cotes de Provence Rosé is my all-time favorite rosé ever since my husband and I first discovered it in Biarritz. The founders of Coeur Clémentine are rosé fanatics who had the crazy idea to produce one of the best rosés from Provence. They also produce Coeur Clémentine Brut Rosé, an amazing sparkling rosé already featured on this blog and a must-try. We couldn’t wait for this rosé to be available on the American market and you can now find it at selected wine cellars. This is the perfect rosé for those long, hot summer nights.
I’m usually not a big fan of white wines but Domaine Raimbault-Pineau Sancerre is an exception. Sancerre is produced in the Loire Valley, best known for its magnificent chateaux from the Renaissance. Although the appellation also makes interesting Pinot Noir reds, it is most famous for its mineral and fruity whites. Domaine Raimbault-Pineau Sancerre is 100% Sauvignon Blanc, light and crisp, with citrus and floral notes. It never disappoints and is even better enjoyed with a plate of oysters 😉
