Caudalie: beauty is in the grapes

Caudalie is a true french success story: Mathilde and her husband Bertrand started the company after discovering the action on the skin of Polyphenols, powerful antioxidants extracted from grape seeds. In 1999, they launched their very first sanctuary spa in Bordeaux.

Named “The Sources of Caudalie”, this spa is located  in the heart of prestigious Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte, which is owned by Mathilde’s family.

All about the experience

I have been invited to a ladies afterwork party at Caudalie Soho Boutique & Spa in New York last week. I was so excited to meet amazing women and looking forward to discovering the Caudalie treats that were delicately prepared for us!

When I turned on Bleecker street, I immediately noticed the brand’s new decor on the facade of the boutique: the window was all covered with Caudalie Vinosource Sorbet Cream sample tubes. They were offered to guests at the end of the party. Such a great and sustainable way to demolish a one-night decor!

Caudalie Soho

The boutique was full of ladies carrying mini “popcorn buckets” full of pink candies while waiting for a free mini facial and/or manicure at the spa.

Hair care brand Phyto was offering ladies a “romantic countryside” hairstyle for the night.

Caudalie also partnered with Eberjey boutique on Gansevoort St to offer fine lingerie for sale during the evening.

A sommelier started to pour some rosé “from the vineyard”. Located at the end of the boutique, I discovered a mini bar serving this very nice Hauts de Smith Rosé 2016. It’s a light and fruity rosé with a very nice color. and it was served complementary all night long.

Smith Haut Lafitte Rose

My love story with Smith Haut Lafitte began in 2011 when I started another love story with my now husband. After a few months of dating, he invited me for a romantic getaway at The Sources of Caudalie in Bordeaux.

I remember visiting the winery with a beautiful spring sunshine, enjoying the pool, spa and treatments. But the image that still fills my brain is the vivid souvenir of treating myself with a superb glass of Smith Haut Lafitte White while admiring the sunset over the vineyards with my beau.

I never stopped using Caudalie products as they still remind me these very personal moments. The fragrances of their creams and lotions take me back to Bordeaux right away, to this romantic weekend.

The French Beauty Solution

My best sellers

I can’t wake up and start my day without a mist of Caudalie Beauty Elixir. This one is a multi-tasker: refresh and fix your makeup, boost your radiance, and tone your pores, what else?

Because I am a “South of France girl” (French Riviera), I love (maybe too much) the sun. So using every other day the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum under my moisturizer at night is a must do. It helps reduce dark spots and it is perfect for sensitive skins like mine.

I am highly sensitive to perfumes, fragrances, and odors (which helps a lot when tasting new wines!). So, when come the sun, I love to keep my body moisturized with the Caudalie Divine Oil. It smells summertime and beach! Guess what: Caudalie does it in travel size!!!
